Glow Up For 2020

I know it's overused, but I love the term "glow up". There is nothing more satisfying than knowing that you have a certain glow about you. I have curated some very specific ways to "glow up" for 2020. Let me know if i've left anything out!

1. Vision Board

No matter how many times I say this, people still don't seem to take the time to make one...and then wonder why things never work out for them! We can't just sit back and think we deserve the world, we have to create a clear vision of what we want and then put in the work. You don't have to have a CRYSTAL clear vision...but some sort of idea of what you want.

2. A Fresh Mindset

Nothing says glow like a new fresh mindset. Instead of thinking about what you want your life to LOOK like, start thinking about how you want it to FEEL. Read things that inspire you, spend time around people who have mindsets you wish to adapt,

3. Make yourself Proud

If you want a quick fix to gaining confidence, just do what you say you'll do. Write out your daily intentions and actually stick to them. Don't seek affirmation from anyone but yourself. Most of us have a lot more to be proud about than we give ourselves credit for. For example, if you say you're going to the gym...go to the gym and push yourself, then after all that, take a moment to feel proud of yourself for accomplishing a small task which you set your mind to.

4. Fix your Flaws

Okay you don't have to get rid of your flaws for a glow up, but a fixing them up a bit won't kill you. What is something you can work on this week? Always late? Change it. Stop using excuses and realize that you can re-create parts of yourself anytime you wish. Become self aware and acknowledge your flaws and decide if you want to do something about them. Mine?...for starters I used to be late a little more than I would like when meeting with friends, so I tell myself that I'm meeting them 15 minutes before I actually am meeting them so I won't be late!

5. Self Care

Most of your glow will come from within but for that last little bit of sparkle, some external self care will do the trick! Carve out a night of the week to have a hot steamy shower, jazz music in the background, an exfoliating face mask followed by a hydrating face mask. All that with a cup of hot tea and a cozy feel good film and you've got yourself an extra glow.
